Create classrooms where every child can participate, learn, and thrive. This ePyramid course clarifies what inclusion really means and shows you how to put it into practice with concrete teaming and instructional strategies that boost engagement and skill development for children with disabilities.

What you’ll learn

  • Define high-quality inclusion using core components—access, participation, and supports—and see how these guide daily decisions.
  • Build effective teams: align IFSP/IEP goals, co-plan with specialists, and use clear roles, routines, and communication.
  • Design inclusive environments with Universal Design for Learning (UDL), visual supports, and routines that work for mixed abilities.
  • Use targeted teaching strategies: embedded instruction, prompting and fading, peer-mediated supports, and assistive/AAC tools.
  • Address challenging behavior through Pyramid Model–aligned, positive behavior supports and individualized interventions.
  • Monitor progress with simple data tools to adjust instruction and document growth.
  • Partner with families using culturally responsive, family-centered practices and smooth transition plans.
